On A Sadder Note. . .

Before I begin, I just want to acknowledge that I am a bit late on this one; I've known about it for awhile but haven't had ample time to put a post up, so here goes. . . I'm sure that by now, most know something about the various sites that have exploded the social networking craze("myspace.com" being the most well-known). In the same vein of these competitive heavyweights, smaller offerings have cropped up. Of all the tiny upstarts and copycats, the most disturbing and saddening of them all(in regard to the principles of the Black Salvage) is this site, "niggaspace.com". Since I'm left with the task of describing this website for the uninformed, it is, in the creator’s own words, “a place fo’ niggas”. Anyone who knows anything can imagine that the majority of the user profiles on this site belong to young black males and females. Regardless of that fact, and also the fact that many whites post profiles on the site to incite humor, “niggaspace.com”

4 Reasons Why BET Is An Embarrassment To Black People

1. BET(Black Entertainment Television) did not air Coretta Scott King’s funeral on it’s station. BET claimed it wanted to offer viewers a different kind of experience by posting a live webcast on it’s website of the funeral where viewers could access it "at work, at home, traveling,[and] at school". Likewise, the four major networks; NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX all broadcast their own live webcasts on their respective websites. But these stations as well broadcast the funeral on television. C-SPAN and CNN also aired the funeral live. This reason alone proves that BET is the epitome of trash on television. And not to equate the struggle of blacks with Coretta Scott King, but there would be no BET without her. BET felt that viewers would prefer to watch women shaking their rumps in music videos rather than some funeral for a beloved civil rights leader. 2. BET is not black entertainment television. It does not represent the views and ideals of the millions of Blacks in the United S

BET says 'NO' to Coretta Scott King

This will ultimately be the first of many posts bashing BET(Black Entertainment Television). It is a necessary though, so bear with me. Several months ago, when beloeved civil rights leader Coretta Scott King passed away, BET denied her funeral a live broadcast on it’s station. I’m not going to preach right now, but BET owes its existence in part to Coretta Scott King and many others. For the station not to broadcast her funeral is insulting to blacks, but then again, this is a station that proudly shows pornography. . . This will ultimately be the first of many posts bashing BET(Black Entertainment Television). It is a necessary though, so bear with me. This is the statement from BET Michael Lewellen, BET’s Senior Vice Pesident of Corporate Communications claimed that the network “weighed a number of different options. In the end, we chose to offer a different kind of experience for BET viewers” This “different” experience of which Lewellen speaks is a live webcast over the inte

What is the "Black Salvage"?

What is the “Black Salvage”? That is a difficult question to answer and then likewise it can be simple. But to break things down, the Black Salvage is literally, a means to reach out to blacks and try to salvage our future. There is so much that breaks down the progess of blacks in America, and much of it is the fault of blacks. If anything, this weblog is a place to reach out and take in knowledge, a place to take in power. . . My name is Jerel Ellegood. I’m a resident of Prince Georges County in Maryland. I’m a political activist, novelist, and musician, as well as college student. I currently attend Morgan State University but will hopefully be transferring to either Bowie State University or the University of Maryland. I’m a free-thinker, or so I think . I feel that I have good things to say and would like to share them. Likewise, I believe there are others whose views, like mine, could bring about salvage of blacks in America; and so I will likely enlist others to submit regularl
